Introducing 3M Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) technology
Using microreplication, 3M scientists created consistently sized triangular grains, which were then electrostatically oriented to point in the same direction. These grains formed a united front that maximized the abrasives’ cutting potential, and the resulting technology became known as Precision Shaped Grain (PSG).
Used in all 3M™ Cubitron™ II Abrasive Products, Precision Shaped Grains self-sharpen. As they are used they continuously fracture to form sharp points and edges that slice cleaner and faster, stay cooler, and last longer than other products, meaning you get efficient metal removal, while greatly reducing heat related damage and charring.
In fact, 3M™ Cubitron™ II Abrasive Discs are so efficient, they have been shown to out-cut and out-last many conventional ceramic industrial abrasive discs on the market.
