3M Scientific study compares 3M™ Petrifilm™ Plates with Traditional agar plates
A recent 3M internal study compared some environmental impacts of 3M™ Petrifilm™ Plates with traditional agar methods. The study found that when comparing raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, use and disposal, 3M™ Petrifilm ™ Plates used 75% less energy and 80% less water, emitted 75% less greenhouse gas and produced 66% less waste. 3M also has a long-standing commitment to responsible sourcing including sustainably sourced forest resources.
